Strategic positioning is all about determining what target group(s) you most want to go after, figuring out what messages you need to communicate to get their attention, and then picking the right means of distribution to deliver your messages effectively. If you don't do all three really well, you are wasting your time and your money.

One Communicatia project has involved helping the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Asheville and Buncombe County develop a marketing strategy to attract media arts companies to Western North Carolina. The strategy is bearing fruit, as the Asheville Chamber, the Media Arts Project, URTV public access television, the Asheville Area Center for the Performing Arts and other organizations and individuals are working together to build a thriving media arts community in Asheville.
